CLASSICAL DENGUE
It is the most common and mild form of manifestation of the disease. Symptoms begin overnight and usually last between 5 and 10 days. Due to the similarity, it is common for dengue to be confused with the flu.
The symptoms are:
- high fever (between 39 ° C and 40 ° C);
- severe headache, behind the eyes and on the body in general;
- joint and bone pain;
- tiredness and softness;
- dizziness, nausea, and vomiting;
- loss of appetite and taste.
HEMORRHAGIC DENGUE :
Hemorrhagic dengue is a more serious form of the virus. The initial symptoms are the same as the classic ones, but between the 3rd and 5th day, the person can develop changes in blood clotting.
Internal bleeding and bleeding from small vessels in the skin may occur. This type is more common after the 2nd or 3rd infection and, if the complication is not treated quickly, the disease can lead the patient to death.
In addition to the symptoms present in the common form, hemorrhage can present:
- severe abdominal pain;
- red spots on the skin;
- bleeding from the nose, mouth, or gums;
- mental confusion;
- excess thirst and dry mouth;
- difficulty breathing;
- pressure drop.
