THE TREATMENT
There is no specific treatment for dengue. So, the goal is to administer medications to relieve symptoms. The person needs to seek medical help and not take medication on their own.
Treatment should be done with medications such as dipyrone and, to avoid dehydration, plenty of fluids.
Acetylsalicylic acid and anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen are not recommended, as they can cause bleeding.
PREVENTION
The most effective way to fight dengue is to prevent the mosquito from being born. Therefore, it is necessary that people clean their houses well and avoid any type of water accumulation, since it is through it that the mosquito reproduces.
Check out some tips:
- avoid the accumulation of water in plant pots, cans, tires, bottles, water tanks, and other places that it can accumulate and serve as a basis for mosquito breeding;
- placing screens on windows can help, as long as the mosquito is not reproducing inside your own home;
- use repellents during the day, especially in areas at risk or in places with many mosquitoes.
Vaccination is another form of prevention. It does not leave the person immune to the disease, but it has 66% efficacy rates.
